The Maintenance Technician / Executive is responsible for overseeing the upkeep, repair, and performance of all production equipment, utilities, and facility infrastructure. This role ensures smooth, safe, and reliable operations by managing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

· Oversee the servicing, repair, and calibration of production equipment (e.g., dryers, mills, mixers).

· Perform root-cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective actions.

· Ensure minimal downtime and fast turnaround during breakdowns.

2. Preventive Maintenance (PM)

· Plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance programs for all machinery.

· Maintain accurate PM records, service logs, and maintenance reports.

· Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.

3. Facility & Utilities Management

· Oversee utilities such as electrical systems, compressors, HVAC, water systems, and ventilation.

· Ensure building facilities (lighting, piping, safety systems, drainage) are in good condition.

· Coordinate external contractors for specialized repairs or facility upgrades.

4. Safety & Compliance

· Ensure maintenance activities comply with OSHA, GMP, and internal safety standards.

· Support risk assessments, safety inspections, and emergency response procedures.

· Identify and report potential safety hazards.

5. Inventory & Procurement Support

· Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and consumables.

· Assist in sourcing vendors, requesting quotations, and coordinating maintenance purchases.

· Ensure traceability and proper documentation for all equipment and spare parts.

6. Continuous Improvement

· Recommend improvements to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

· Support projects involving automation, system enhancements, and process optimisation.

· Train and guide maintenance assistants or technicians when needed.

7. Any ad hoc task as assigned by superior.

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• At least 1year of maintenance experience.

Experience

• Experience in manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical, or FMCG industries is an advantage.
• Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Experience handling production machinery and utilities is preferred.

Knowledge

• Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or food safety requirements (for food manufacturing).
• Understanding of occupational safety and health (OSHA) requirements.
• Basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

Skills

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, and maintenance records).
• Able to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
