Responsibilities

About the role

Skud is looking for a Technical Office Engineer (TAB) to join our Testing, Adjusting and Balancing team.

This role is suitable for someone reliable, detail-oriented, tech savvy, and has strong mechanical aptitude. You should be comfortable working with HVAC drawings, technical documents, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Excel, and structured project files.

If you have experience as a Project Engineer, Technical Engineer, Document Controller, Draftsperson, M&E Coordinator, HVAC Engineer, or Construction Document Specialist, this role may be a good fit.

This is a technical office role, not a general admin role.

About Skud

Skud is a specialist Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) and Cleanroom Performance Testing company focused on HVAC system performance, cleanroom verification, technical reporting, and project delivery.

We are NEBB certified in both Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) and Cleanroom Performance Testing (CPT), making Skud the only company in Malaysia with dual NEBB certification in these two disciplines.

We are not an installer and we are not a general contractor. Our work is focused on testing, balancing, verifying, documenting, and helping clients understand how their HVAC and cleanroom systems are performing.

Our projects include data centers, cleanrooms, semiconductor facilities, healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial, and commercial buildings.

What you will do

  • Obtain and organize project documents such as drawings, specifications, schedules, submittals, calibration certificates, and technical records

  • Review HVAC drawings and submittals to identify relevant design data required for TAB work

  • Prepare AutoCAD and Bluebeam markups for TAB points, equipment references, valves, grilles, diffusers, dampers, air terminals, and system zoning

  • Prepare drawings and field forms for use by TAB engineers on site

  • Compile air-side and water-side TAB readings submitted by site engineers

  • Check field data for missing, incomplete, inconsistent, or unclear information

  • Populate TAB report templates, equipment schedules, field data forms, and measurement summaries

  • Assist with method statements, ITPs, technical submissions, and project close-out documents

  • Track client comments, submission status, resubmissions, approvals, and pending documents

  • Maintain project files properly in SharePoint and OneDrive

  • Support project progress tracking so field data and final reports are completed without delay

  • Coordinate with the TAB Manager, Senior TAB Engineers, TAB Engineers, Project Coordinator, and clients when required

Requirements

  • Diploma, Degree, Technical Certificate, or relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Building Services, ACMV, M&E, construction documentation, or a related field

  • 1 to 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC, ACMV, M&E, technical office, project engineering, document control, drafting, site coordination, or engineering support

  • Able to read HVAC drawings, schematics, equipment schedules, specifications, submittals, and technical documents

  • Able to use AutoCAD for drawing review, basic markups, equipment references, and technical coordination

  • Able to use Bluebeam for PDF review, drawing markups, comments, measurement notes, and document coordination

  • Able to use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word confidently for reports, schedules, forms, registers, and technical documents

  • Able to maintain proper project files using SharePoint, OneDrive, or similar cloud-based filing systems

  • Good mechanical aptitude and interest in HVAC systems

  • Strong attention to detail, document structure, formatting, and follow-through

  • Able to organize and manage a high volume of project documents

  • Good communication skills and able to coordinate with engineers, managers, clients, consultants, and project teams

Experience that will help you stand out

Direct TAB experience is not required.

Experience in any of the following will be an advantage:

  • HVAC, ACMV, M&E, building services, or construction industry

  • Preparing technical reports, method statements, ITPs, or project submissions

  • Working with project engineers, site teams, consultants, clients, or main contractors

  • Supporting documentation for data center, cleanroom, healthcare, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, industrial, or commercial projects

  • Handling technical documentation, report preparation, submission tracking, or project close-out records

Why this role matters

Every TAB project depends on accurate site readings, clear drawings, proper reports, and disciplined documentation.

You do not need to know everything about TAB before joining. What matters is your ability to understand drawings, handle technical documents, use AutoCAD and Bluebeam, organize project information, ask the right questions, and complete work properly.

If you enjoy technical details, drawings, reports, structured documentation, and working with engineering teams, this role can become a strong career path inside Skud.
