Job description:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

• Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial performance, identify variances, and provide actionable insights.
• Support department heads with financial modelling and scenario planning.

2. Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).
• Present financial performance and key metrics to senior management.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships.
• Oversee payments, collections, and daily cash operations.
• Optimise liquidity, funding strategies, and financial risk management.

4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure timely submission of SST, corporate tax, PCB, EPF, SOCSO, EIS and other statutory requirements.
• Work closely with tax agents, auditors, and regulatory bodies (e.g., LHDN, SSM, Customs Malaysia).
• Keep the company updated on Malaysian tax changes and compliance obligations.

5. Internal Controls & Governance

• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Review and improve financial SOPs, policies, and approval workflows.
• Coordinate external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with good governance practices.

6. Strategic Finance & Business Support

• Provide financial insights to support business decisions, investment reviews, and cost optimisation.
• Evaluate ROI for new projects, capex plans, and strategic initiatives.
• Support management in fundraising, banking facilities, and financial negotiations when required.

7. Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor finance and accounting staff.
• Drive process improvements, digital transformation, and automation in financial functions.
• Promote a culture of accuracy, responsibility, and continuous improvement.
