Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Civil Engineer or Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Engineer within the construction or building industry
- Demonstrated experience in managing and executing both civil engineering and M&E projects, ensuring successful completion within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with the use of project management software and tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the execution of civil engineering works on construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and supervise Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) installation activities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and fire protection, from procurement to commissioning.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for both civil and M&E aspects.
- Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks to identify and resolve any deviations from project plans or potential issues.
- Review technical drawings, specifications, and method statements for civil and M&E works, providing feedback and ensuring constructability.
- Manage and mentor junior engineers and site personnel, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment for civil and M&E works.
- Prepare progress reports, technical documentation, and post-project evaluations, analyzing data to identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges that arise during the construction and installation phases of civil and M&E systems.
- Authority Liaison
- Coordinate technical documents and joint-inspections with local authorities to secure clearance letters for the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC):
- TNB (Power energization & substation handover).
- BOMBA (Firefighting safety endorsement).
- DOSH / JKKP (Statutory certification for lifts and pressure vessels).
- SPAN / IWK / Water Board (Water supply and sewerage handover).
