Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of the lorry and trailer, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels. Report any issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
Communication and Coordination: Maintain regular communication with dispatchers, customers, and colleagues to provide updates on delivery status, potential delays, and other relevant information.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients, ensuring a positive experience during deliveries and addressing any concerns or issues.
Safety and Emergency Preparedness: Adhere to safety protocols, including using seat belts, maintaining appropriate speed limits, and responding effectively in emergency situations.
Adapting to Regulations: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to driving, vehicle operations, and cargo transportation.
Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
Document and log work/rest periods and kilometers spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
Report “macros” to your superior for each stage of the loading and unloading process according to company standards
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as -with company policies and procedures
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
