About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Relations (IR) Manager with strong expertise in employee relations, industrial relations, trade union management, collective bargaining, disciplinary matters and Malaysian employment legislation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IR professional to take on a leadership role, manage complex IR matters and strengthen workplace relations, governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complex IR cases involving disciplinary proceedings, grievances, misconduct, disputes and Industrial Court matters.
• Manage trade union relationships, collective bargaining and Collective Agreement negotiations.
• Advise senior management on Malaysian employment legislation, IR risks and employee relations matters.
• Liaise with government agencies and external stakeholders on industrial relations matters.
• Develop and deliver IR training and coaching for managers and senior leaders.
• Lead IR projects, policy reviews and process improvements to strengthen governance and compliance.
• Lead, mentor and develop the IR team, ensuring strong technical capabilities and effective case management.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field.
• 8–10 years of HR/IR experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Strong manufacturing industry experience is an advantage, particularly in managing complex IR cases.
• Proven experience in trade union management and collective bargaining.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment and industrial relations legislation.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, advisory and stakeholder management skills.
• Open to Malaysian citizens only.
