This is a casual position offering flexible working arrangements, allowing you to build your own schedule whilst delivering high-quality educational support to our students. As a Private Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their academic goals through personalised, one-to-one or small group instruction. Your expertise and passion for education will directly impact student success and help shape their learning journey.
What you'll be doingDelivering tailored tuition sessions to students across various age groups and academic levels, adapting your teaching methods to individual learning needsPreparing comprehensive lesson plans and educational materials that align with curriculum objectives and student requirementsAssessing student progress through regular evaluations and providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvementMaintaining detailed records of student attendance, progress, and achievements to track development over timeCommunicating effectively with students, parents and Essential Minds coordinators to discuss progress, address concerns, and set realistic learning objectivesUtilising various teaching techniques and resources to create engaging, interactive learning experiencesSupporting students in developing confidence, critical thinking skills and a genuine love for learningStaying current with educational best practices and adjusting teaching strategies as needed
What we're looking forA strong educational background with expertise in one or more subject areas (such as English, Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, or Humanities)Proven experience in tutoring, teaching, or educational support roles, preferably in a one-to-one or small group settingExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and patientlyThe ability to adapt your teaching style to suit different learning preferences, abilities and agesStrong organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple students and schedules independentlyA genuine passion for education and a commitment to supporting student development and successReliability and professionalism in all interactions with students, parents and colleaguesRelevant qualifications such as a degree in your subject area or a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, or equivalent) would be advantageousEnhanced DBS clearance or willingness to undergo one as part of the recruitment process
