Collaborate with researchers and engineers to define research directions, develop prototypes, and translate research outcomes into practical solutions for real-world technical and business challenges.
The School seeks applicants examining how people interact, collaborate, create, work, and make decisions with increasingly intelligent computing systems, particularly those who both imagine and build new forms of human-computer interaction (HCI) and rigorously investigate how these technologies shape people, organizations, and society. We welcome research across HCI and related fields, including, but not limited to, human-AI interaction and collaboration, user experience design, intelligent and adaptive interfaces, social and collaborative computing, ubiquitous and embodied computing, information visualization, human-robot interaction, and emerging interaction modalities. We welcome a broad range of methodological approaches, including the design and development of novel systems, experimental and computational methods, qualitative and ethnographic research, participatory design methods, and mixed-methods approaches. The candidate should demonstrate effective teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
