Responsibilities
JOB DESCRIPTION
· To conduct toolbox meeting by weekly basis.
· To create safety awareness and carry out safety meeting, fire drill exercise, safety induction and safety training to existing employees and new employees.
· To identify and propose external safety programs based on the employees need.
· To plan, develop, and implement safety campaigns and awareness programmes on a quarterly basis.
· To provide assistance for safety before & after; during internal/external’s audit by ensuring all related documents at site is updated from time to time.
· To review and monitor latest legal and other compliance and to update accordingly.
· To maintain and ensure the proper upkeep, organisation, and filing of all safety-related documents, including incident reports, zero-incident records, and other relevant safety documentation.
· To prepare, compile, and maintain safety documentation required for tender submissions.
· To conduct regular inspection of equipment, tools, and safety gear at the workshop and ensure they are properly maintained and safe for use.
· Take pro-active measures to identify hazard, assess the risk and then implement suitable control measures to eliminate all dangers.
· Ensures that all workers comply with the health and safety requirements of the organization.
· Investigate unsafe actions, near-misses and workplace accidents and submit the accident/incident report to management for record.
· To ensure workplace are safe and comply with the OSHA Act 1994 and Act 139 FMA 1967.
· Compile and maintain relevant registers for authority to ensure compliance.
· Any other ad hoc task by the management
JOB REQUIREMENT
· Must possess a Green Book / Safety Officer Certification (CIDB / DOSH approved).
· Minimum SPM; Diploma or Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
· Minimum 2–5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in construction, marine, shipyard, port, or industrial projects.
· Knowledge of OSHA 1994, Factories and Machinery Act 1967 (Act 139 FMA), and other relevant safety laws and regulations.
· Ability to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
· Skilled in conducting site inspections, audits, and safety training programs.
· Proficient in maintaining safety registers, reports, and documentation for compliance purposes.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, management, and authorities.
· Able to work independently and under pressure in a dynamic work environment.
· First Aid & CPR certification is an added advantage.
· Familiarity with ISO 45001 or other safety management systems is preferred.
· Preferably candidates with site experience from Marine, Shipyard, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical industries.
· Strong HSE knowledge.
