Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Purchasing Manager in planning and managing purchasing activities.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
  • Request and compare quotations and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
  • Prepare and review purchase orders, purchase requisitions, and related procurement documents.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and outstanding orders.
  • Maintain good relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, production, finance, sales, and other departments to ensure purchasing requirements are fulfilled.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in preventing stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Follow up on delayed, incomplete, or incorrect deliveries and resolve purchasing-related issues.
  • Ensure purchases comply with company policies, approved budgets, and procurement procedures.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, quotations, and contracts.
  • Assist with supplier negotiations, price reviews, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new suppliers when required.
  • Prepare purchasing reports and provide procurement updates to management.
  • Assist in reviewing supplier contracts, payment terms, and other commercial agreements.
  • Support the Purchasing Manager in improving procurement processes and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other purchasing and procurement duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in a supervisory or senior purchasing role.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good knowledge of purchasing procedures and supply chain processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and preferably familiar with purchasing systems.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
