About the role
This role involves sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers and vendors for materials, equipment, and services. You will manage the full procurement lifecycle including obtaining quotations, preparing cost analysis, issuing Purchase Orders, and monitoring delivery schedules. The position also encompasses logistics coordination, supplier relationship management, and ensuring compliance with customs, shipping, and regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers/vendors for materials, equipment, and services.
- Obtain quotations, compare pricing, and prepare cost analysis for management approval.
- Issue Purchase Requisition (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), monitor delivery schedules, and ensure timely supply.
- Support variation orders, claims, and back-to-back contract requirements.
- Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks impacting project schedule, cost, or quality.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and quality.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and vendor audits.
- Handle payment terms and supplier agreements, including credit terms application.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries for projects and operations.
- Ensure compliance with customs, shipping, permits, and regulatory requirements where applicable.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistic, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 5–6 years procurement experience, preferably in construction/engineering, or manufacturing.
- Experience in project logistics, or construction materials are preferred.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of local and international sourcing.
- Proficiency in Mandarin language is preferred for liaison with mandarin-speaking vendors in China.
- Good communication and supplier management skills.
- Familiarity with ERP systems / Xero is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with overseas logistic, shipment, import and export is an added advantage.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
