1. ROLE SUMMARY

The Project Sales Executive is responsible for developing project-based sales opportunities and expanding Legrand's market presence within the assigned territory. The role works closely with developers, M&E consultants, architects, interior designers, contractors and other project stakeholders to promote and secure the specification of Legrand electrical solutions, convert opportunities into confirmed orders and support successful project execution.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Development and Specification

• Build and maintain strong business relationships with developers, M&E consultants, architects, interior designers, contractors and other relevant stakeholders.

• Identify upcoming projects and promote Legrand electrical solutions during the design and specification stages.

• Understand project requirements and recommend appropriate product solutions in collaboration with product and technical teams.

• Monitor project progress from specification through quotation, order confirmation and delivery.

Sales and Business Development

• Develop and manage a healthy project pipeline within Klang Valley and Northern Malaysia.

• Identify and pursue new customers, projects and business opportunities within the construction, electrical and building-material sectors.

• Prepare and deliver product presentations, commercial proposals and quotations.

• Negotiate commercial terms within the approved authority framework and follow through to secure orders.

• Achieve assigned sales, gross margin and business-development targets.

Customer and Project Support

• Provide professional pre-sales and post-sales support to customers and project stakeholders.

• Coordinate with customer service, supply chain, technical support, product management and finance on product availability, technical clarification, credit matters, order fulfilment and delivery schedules.

• Address customer concerns promptly and support effective issue resolution to maintain customer satisfaction.

Reporting and Market Intelligence

• Maintain accurate and timely records of customer activities, project status, quotations, opportunities and sales forecasts in the relevant company systems.

• Submit sales, pipeline and activity reports within the required timelines.

• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing developments and customer feedback, and share relevant insights with management.

3. KEY WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Head of Sales, product management, technical support, customer service, supply chain, finance and other support functions.

Developers, M&E consultants, architects, interior designers, contractors, distributors and project customers.

4. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum three years of sales experience in project-based industries such as electrical products, construction, building materials or related sectors.

• Experience engaging developers, consultants, architects and contractors is preferred.

• Experience managing project pipelines, quotations and sales opportunities through to order closure.

5. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.

• Sales-driven, proactive, resilient and able to work independently with strong follow-up discipline.

• Commercial awareness and the ability to understand customer requirements and recommend suitable product solutions.

• Good planning, project tracking, reporting and stakeholder-coordination skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or sales-tracking systems.

• Good command of written and spoken English. Mandarin proficiency is an advantage where required for business communication.

• Possess a valid driving licence and be willing to travel regularly within the assigned territory.

6. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Achievement of assigned sales and gross margin targets.

• Value, quality and conversion rate of the project pipeline.

• Number and value of project specifications, quotations and new business opportunities secured.

• Accuracy and timeliness of sales forecasts, activity reports and project updates.

• Customer responsiveness, satisfaction and effectiveness of cross-functional coordination.

7. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Comply with company policies, procedures, ethical standards and applicable health and safety requirements.

• Protect confidential company, customer and business information.
