About the Role
This is a hands-on management position for someone who can organise people, materials, vehicles and machinery, respond confidently to sales enquiries, and maintain strong control over safety, stock and documentation. The successful candidate will coordinate both indoor and outdoor operations and ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities

· Plan and supervise daily receiving, weighing, unloading, sorting, dismantling, segregation, storage, packing, loading and dispatch activities.
· Coordinate outdoor collection schedules, vehicles, drivers, workers, equipment, customer-site requirements and supporting documents.
· Manage day-to-day dealings with principals, suppliers, downstream buyers, transporters, contractors and other service partners.
· Maintain accurate control of incoming and outgoing weights, inventory movements, high-value items, stock ageing and physical stock counts.
· Ensure the factory and yard remain organised, secure, clean and ready for customer visits or authority inspections.
· Monitor machinery, tools, vehicles and weighing equipment, and arrange preventive maintenance or repairs when required.
· Lead supervisors, store personnel, drivers and general workers through clear daily work plans, performance monitoring and practical training.
· Prepare regular operations reports covering collections, stock, productivity, maintenance, staffing, incidents, costs and pending actions.
· Ensure all activities follow company licences, approved procedures, environmental requirements, safety rules, fire-prevention measures and scheduled-waste controls, including SW110 where applicable.
Requirements
· At least five years of relevant experience in recycling, scrap metal, e-waste, scheduled waste, waste management, manufacturing, warehouse or industrial operations.
· At least three years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position.
· Experience in the recycling or scrap industry is strongly preferred, especially in material identification, weighing, sorting, buying and selling, recovery value and collection logistics.
· Able to evaluate operational requirements and give timely, practical guidance to sales and operations teams.
· Good knowledge of factory safety, environmental compliance, inventory control, security and documentation.
· Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication and commercial decision-making skills.
· Able to work in a hands-on factory and yard environment and visit customer sites when required.
· Valid driving licence and basic ability to use email, spreadsheets, messaging applications and operational systems.
· A diploma or degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Environmental Management, Logistics, Business Management or a related field is preferred; strong relevant experience may also be considered.
