The Nuclear Director, Southeast Asia will provide regional technical and market leadership for AtkinsRéalis' nuclear business across ASEAN.
Working as part of the Nuclear EMEA organisation and reporting to the Head of Middle East and Southeast Asia, the role will establish and develop AtkinsRéalis' nuclear service offering across the region. The Nuclear Director will work particularly closely with government nuclear programmes and programme developers, helping clients understand their needs and connecting those needs with AtkinsRéalis' established global nuclear capabilities.
The role will combine external market and client engagement with internal leadership across AtkinsRéalis' nuclear organisation. Rather than creating a standalone regional capability, the Nuclear Director will need to bring together the right expertise, experience and delivery capability from across AtkinsRéalis to respond to individual client and market requirements.
Working alongside regional business development teams, the Nuclear Director will provide the nuclear competence, experience and credibility that underpins our market proposition, supporting the development of trusted client relationships and sustainable nuclear growth across Southeast Asia.
-
Provide regional technical and market leadership for AtkinsRéalis' nuclear activities across ASEAN, helping define priorities, propositions and routes to market.
-
Establish AtkinsRéalis as a credible and trusted nuclear partner to government nuclear programmes and their developers, building senior relationships and developing a deep understanding of emerging programme requirements.
-
Work alongside business development to lead account management, identifying and developing nuclear opportunities, providing the technical credibility and nuclear-sector experience required to underpin the commercial proposition.
-
Act as a senior nuclear representative for AtkinsRéalis in the region, engaging with clients, governments, industry and other stakeholders on nuclear programme development and delivery.
-
Develop a clear understanding of individual countries' nuclear ambitions, programme maturity and emerging requirements, using this insight to align AtkinsRéalis' capabilities to the needs of the market.
-
Translate client and programme challenges into clearly defined requirements and assemble the appropriate AtkinsRéalis capabilities to address them.
-
Mobilise multidisciplinary expertise from across AtkinsRéalis to support regional pursuits and client engagements, ensuring that the organisation presents a coherent nuclear proposition rather than individual service offerings.
-
Bring experience from established and emerging nuclear programmes internationally to help clients understand programme requirements, risks, delivery models and practical pathways towards implementation.
-
Work across a range of nuclear technologies and vendor propositions while maintaining a technology-informed but appropriately independent perspective on client requirements.
-
Provide senior technical leadership and assurance to opportunities, proposals and early client engagements, ensuring that AtkinsRéalis' commitments are supported by credible experience and deliverable capability.
-
Represent AtkinsRéalis at relevant industry, government and client forums, contributing informed nuclear perspectives and strengthening the organisation's profile within the region.
-
Work collaboratively across geographic and organisational boundaries, creating effective links between regional teams and AtkinsRéalis' established nuclear businesses and capabilities.
-
Contribute to the development and conversion of a sustainable pipeline of nuclear opportunities, while maintaining a clear focus on long-term client relationships and enduring regional capability rather than short-term transactional sales.
What Success Looks Like
-
Over the first three years, success will mean:
-
AtkinsRéalis has established a recognisable and credible nuclear service across ASEAN.
-
Strong relationships have been established with priority nuclear clients, particularly government programmes and their developers.
-
AtkinsRéalis' existing global nuclear expertise can be accessed and deployed effectively into Southeast Asian opportunities through an established team-of-teams model.
-
Business development activity is consistently supported by credible nuclear leadership and demonstrable delivery capability.
-
Early engagements and opportunities are developing into enduring client relationships and a sustainable regional nuclear business.
-
The organisation has developed sufficient understanding of the regional nuclear landscape to anticipate client needs and position AtkinsRéalis appropriately as national programmes mature.
-
The successful candidate will be an established nuclear leader with the personal credibility and breadth of experience required to represent AtkinsRéalis with senior government, client and industry stakeholders.
-
The ideal candidate will have:
-
Approximately 20 years' experience within the nuclear sector, including substantial experience associated with nuclear new-build programmes.
-
Broad experience across the nuclear lifecycle and direct exposure to multiple reactor technologies and technology providers, enabling informed and independent discussion of different programme and technology approaches.
-
Strong personal credibility within the nuclear industry and the ability to engage confidently with senior government, client, developer and industry stakeholders.
-
A strong understanding of the requirements associated with establishing and delivering nuclear programmes, extending beyond individual engineering disciplines or technologies.
-
Experience operating within complex, multidisciplinary nuclear organisations and bringing together capabilities from different teams, businesses and geographies.
-
The ability to translate nuclear programme challenges into practical scopes of work and mobilise the appropriate technical and programme expertise to address them.
-
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop opportunities without compromising technical integrity.
-
Experience supporting major pursuits, proposals and strategic client engagements.
-
The ability to operate effectively in an international and cross-cultural environment.
-
Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to make complex nuclear issues accessible to both specialist and non-specialist senior stakeholders.
-
A collaborative leadership style suited to a matrix organisation, with the ability to lead through influence and networks rather than relying on direct organisational authority.
-
Experience of working in Southeast Asia would be advantageous, but the defining requirement is deep nuclear-sector credibility combined with an ability to connect regional client needs to international nuclear capability.
