1. Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Network & System Engineer to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and support enterprise IT infrastructure, including network devices, servers, virtualization platforms, and related IT systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, reliability, and performance of the organization's network and server environments.

The role requires strong troubleshooting capabilities, practical technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with internal IT teams, vendors, and service providers.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Network Infrastructure Management

• Configure, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot network switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Support and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, VPN, and internet connectivity.
• Perform network troubleshooting involving TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VLANs, routing, and switching.
• Support network security configurations, firewall policies, access control, and network segmentation.
• Monitor network availability, performance, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity.
• Perform routine network health checks, firmware updates, configuration backups, and preventive maintenance.
• Assist with network infrastructure deployment, upgrades, migrations, and expansion projects.
• Coordinate with internet service providers, network vendors, and external technical support teams.
  

B. Server & System Administration

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server operating systems.
• Administer Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, file sharing, and user access permissions.
• Perform routine server administration, system updates, patch management, and preventive maintenance.
• Monitor server health, resource utilization, operating system performance, and service availability.
• Support virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or equivalent platforms.
• Manage virtual machines, including provisioning, resource allocation, snapshots, and routine maintenance.
• Perform server troubleshooting, log analysis, and initial root cause investigation.
• Assist with server hardware maintenance, storage administration, and infrastructure upgrades.
  

C. Microsoft 365 & Cloud Services

• Support Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and user licensing.
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID, user accounts, access permissions, and authentication configurations.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 connectivity, account access, and synchronization issues.
• Support hybrid Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID environments where applicable.
• Assist with basic administration of Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
  

D. Backup, Security & Disaster Recovery

• Monitor backup jobs and verify the successful completion of scheduled backups.
• Support backup and restoration activities using Veeam, Windows Server Backup, or equivalent solutions.
• Perform periodic restoration testing according to established procedures.
• Support antivirus, endpoint security, firewall policies, and infrastructure security controls.
• Assist with system patching, vulnerability remediation, and security hardening.
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Ensure IT infrastructure changes follow approved security and change management procedures.
  

E. IT Infrastructure Operations & Support

• Investigate and resolve network, server, operating system, and infrastructure-related incidents.
• Provide Level 2 technical support and escalate complex issues to Level 3 specialists or vendors.
• Perform scheduled infrastructure maintenance and system health checks.
• Monitor infrastructure alerts and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate IT asset inventories, server records, IP address records, and network diagrams.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting activities, system configurations, and maintenance records.
• Participate in infrastructure implementation, system upgrades, and IT improvement projects.
• Coordinate with other IT teams, external service providers, and vendors to resolve technical issues.
  

3. Minimum Qualifications & Technical
Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in network and system administration or IT infrastructure engineering.
• Practical experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including managed switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Experience administering Windows Server 2019/2022/2025 or equivalent supported server environments.
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file server administration.
• Familiarity with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or equivalent virtualization platforms.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID administration.
• Understanding of backup, restoration, patch management, and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot network and server issues independently.
• Good documentation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.
  

4. Preferred Skills & Certifications

The following are considered added advantages rather than mandatory requirements:

• CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, VMware, or Fortinet certifications.
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, HPE Aruba, Huawei, or equivalent network technologies.
• Experience administering FortiGate firewalls.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and Microsoft Intune.
• Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication or equivalent enterprise backup platforms.
• Familiarity with Linux server administration (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or equivalent).
• Experience using infrastructure monitoring tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, or Grafana.
• Basic scripting or automation knowledge using PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Experience supporting data center infrastructure, enterprise IT environments, or managed IT services.
  

5. Key Performance Expectations

• Maintain stable and reliable network and server operations.
• Respond to and resolve assigned infrastructure incidents within agreed service levels.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance, patching, and configuration backup activities.
• Ensure system and network documentation remains accurate and updated.
• Monitor infrastructure health and proactively identify potential issues.
• Follow established security, change management, and operational procedures.
• Coordinate effectively with relevant internal teams, vendors, and external service providers.
  

6. Working Arrangement

Work Location: Seremban, Negeri Sembilan

Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Working Hours: Standard office hours, according to company policy

After-Hours Support: May be required for planned maintenance or critical incidents, subject to company arrangements.

7. Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a practical, hands-on IT infrastructure engineer with approximately 4–6 years of experience supporting both network and server environments.

The candidate should be able to independently troubleshoot common network and Windows Server issues, perform routine infrastructure maintenance, and assist with system upgrades and improvement projects.
