Job Summary

The Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing excellent food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness and service standards in accordance with the hotel’s policies.

Key Responsibilities1. Guest Service

• Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Present menus and provide detailed information on food and beverage offerings
• Take accurate food and drink orders
• Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience

2. Food & Beverage Service

• Serve food and beverages promptly and according to service standards
• Check dishes and drinks before serving to ensure quality and accuracy
• Clear tables and reset them for the next guests
• Handle billing and payment processes (if required)

3. Table & Area Setup

• Prepare dining area before service (table setting, cutlery, glassware)
• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of tables and service areas
• Maintain proper mise en place before and during service

4. Order Coordination

• Communicate orders clearly to kitchen staff
• Monitor order preparation and follow up if delays occur
• Ensure correct items are delivered to guests

5. Complaint Handling

• Respond to guest complaints politely and professionally
• Report issues to Supervisor or Manager when necessary
• Take corrective actions to ensure guest satisfaction

6. Compliance & Hygiene

• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Adhere to hotel policies and SOPs
• Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards

7. Teamwork & Communication

• Work closely with kitchen and service team
• Assist colleagues during peak hours
• Attend briefings and training sessions

8. Upselling & Product Knowledge

• Promote menu items, specials, and beverages
• Suggest additional items to enhance guest experience
• Maintain good knowledge of menu ingredients and preparation

Job RequirementsEducation & Qualifications

• Minimum SPM or equivalent
• Basic food handling certification (advantage)

Experience

• Fresh graduates are welcome OR
• Minimum 1 year experience in F&B or hospitality industry preferred
