About the Role

A technology group is building a permanent application-quality function to support a growing ecosystem of software products and digital platforms.

We are looking for two experienced Application Quality Specialists who can work hands-on with software being developed across the group.

This role is for someone who has a natural understanding of systems and technology.

You will personally work with applications under development, learn how they are intended to operate, test them from different user perspectives, identify functional and logical issues, and work closely with developers until those issues are properly resolved.

This role goes beyond executing predefined test cases. We are looking for people who can independently explore a system, understand its purpose and business logic, build realistic testing scenarios, and identify problems that may not have been anticipated during development.

What You Will Do

• Test new and existing software applications across different products and platforms.
• Understand application functionality, business logic and end-to-end workflows.
• Set up realistic testing scenarios, including different users, accounts, roles and permissions.
• Perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration and user acceptance testing.
• Test complete user journeys rather than individual features in isolation.
• Validate application behaviour across different scenarios, including edge cases and unexpected user actions.
• Identify functional issues, broken workflows, inconsistent behaviour and usability problems.
• Review whether a feature works as intended from both a technical and practical user perspective.
• Validate APIs, integrations and application data where required.
• Investigate defects and provide developers with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.

As you become familiar with the wider software ecosystem, you will be expected to develop a strong understanding of how different applications, users, data and workflows connect.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for experienced candidates from software QA, functional testing, application testing, UAT, test engineering, product QA or related backgrounds.

The right person should:

• Be highly hands-on and comfortable working directly inside applications.
• Be able to understand unfamiliar software independently.
• Think beyond the written requirement or predefined test case.
• Understand how complete workflows and different parts of a system connect.
• Have strong functional and exploratory testing skills.
• Be able to clearly reproduce, document and explain software issues.
• Work effectively with developers, product teams and other stakeholders.
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Take ownership of testing rather than waiting for step-by-step instructions.

Experience Level

We are open to experienced specialists as well as more senior candidates.

We value strong practical application-testing experience, system understanding and analytical ability more than a specific number of years in QA.

Candidates with experience in complex software environments such as SaaS, enterprise applications, fintech, e-commerce, digital platforms, AI-enabled software or other multi-user applications are particularly relevant.
