Responsibilities

Hardware & Systems Support

• At Metasigma you will triage and repair desktops, laptops, peripherals and basic embedded devices using methodical troubleshooting and component swaps.
• Install and configure operating systems, drivers, firmware and essential software on workstations and test devices to keep the fleet production ready.
• Run diagnostics and monitor device health to identify recurring faults and reduce downtime.
• Support engineers during debug sessions by reproducing issues on test benches and validating fixes.

Automation & Lab Operations

• Maintain and improve imaging tools, test benches and lab equipment to keep test cycles consistent and efficient.
• Write small automation scripts and jobs to speed up device imaging, test setups and routine checks.
• Keep automation and lab workflows under version control and help integrate simple CI tasks where useful.
• Help scale repeatable processes so hardware validation and deployments become faster and more reliable.

Documentation & Cross-team Support

• Log incidents, manage inventory for parts and spares, and keep asset records accurate for the team.
• Produce clear troubleshooting guides, runbooks and test procedures that others can follow.
• Work closely with product, operations and engineering to communicate findings and coordinate live fixes.
• Provide hands-on support during product cycles and release windows to help meet delivery goals.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• Entry-level role: 0 years of professional experience expected; prior lab work, internships or personal projects are a plus.
• Willingness to work in a hands-on lab environment and to learn from engineers and operators on the job.

Hard Skills & Knowledge

• Basic hardware troubleshooting and PC assembly or repair experience, with safe handling of components.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems, embedded boards and networking fundamentals.
• Basic scripting ability for automation tasks, for example Bash or Python, to create repeatable lab jobs.
• Comfortable using Git for version control and maintaining scripts, images or small automation repositories.

Soft Skills & Qualities

• Clear communicator who can write concise documentation and explain technical steps to non-technical teammates.
• Curious, reliable and detail oriented, with a focus on reproducible fixes and careful equipment handling.
• Team player who collaborates across engineering, product and operations and follows lab safety and process guidelines.
