Responsibilities
The Role
We're looking for a creative, social-first Social Media Lead to join our Malaysia team in Kuala Lumpur, supporting clients across the region while helping to shape Touch PR's own social presence.
You'll be a hands-on creative responsible for developing ideas, planning shoots, producing content and managing social media for a portfolio of consumer lifestyle brands, starting with Body Inc. and expanding to other accounts. From identifying a fresh content angle to filming, editing, designing and writing the final caption, you'll own the content creation process from start to finish. You'll combine strong visual instincts with an understanding of social trends, platform behaviour and what makes content engaging.
Beyond execution, we want someone who is curious, proactive and willing to experiment. Someone who brings ideas to the table, takes ownership of their work and is constantly looking for better ways to tell a brand's story.
You'll work closely with our Singapore and Malaysia teams, reporting directly to the Director of Singapore & Malaysia. While you'll have guidance and collaboration from the wider team, you'll be expected to manage your own workflow, timelines and deliverables with minimal day-to-day supervision.
This role is ideal for a creative all-rounder who loves making content today and wants to grow into a strategic social media thinker tomorrow.
What You'll Do
1. Content Strategy & Creative Development
· Develop monthly content calendars for assigned brands, translating client objectives and brand priorities into relevant content pillars, themes, angles and formats.
· Pitch fresh, social-first ideas that reflect each brand's identity, audience interests, current conversations and platform trends.
· Identify opportunities to experiment with new formats, storytelling approaches, visual styles and emerging social trends.
· Tailor content ideas for different platforms, particularly Instagram and TikTok, rather than simply reposting the same assets everywhere.
· Over time, develop the ability to independently recommend what content a brand should create, why it matters and how it can drive engagement.
2. End-to-End Content Production
· Plan and manage content shoots, including shot lists, creative references, schedules, props, locations and production requirements.
· Shoot and produce original photo and video content using appropriate equipment, including smartphones and cameras where relevant.
· Edit short-form videos, including Reels and TikToks, with strong pacing, storytelling, transitions, sound and platform-native execution.
· Design engaging static posts, carousels, graphics and other social assets that align with brand guidelines while maintaining a contemporary visual sensibility.
· Write sharp, engaging captions and on-screen copy that communicate brand messages clearly and naturally.
· Manage content production from concept to final delivery, ensuring work is polished, accurate, on-brand and delivered on time.
· Build efficient workflows by batching shoots, adapting content across suitable formats and developing repeatable creative approaches without compromising quality.
3. Social Media Account Management
· Manage the day-to-day content workflow for assigned client accounts, from ideation and scheduling to publishing and performance tracking.
· Maintain content calendars, production schedules and approval timelines, proactively flagging risks or delays.
· Work collaboratively with account teams to understand client briefs, brand requirements, feedback and campaign priorities.
· Participate in client discussions and present content ideas where required, communicating creative rationale clearly and professionally.
· Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, agreed messaging, platform requirements and client approvals.
· Monitor relevant social trends, conversations and competitor activity to identify opportunities for timely and culturally relevant content.
4. Performance Tracking & Creative Optimisation
· Monitor basic social media analytics, including reach, views, watch time, engagement and other relevant account-specific metrics.
· Evaluate which content formats, hooks, storytelling styles and creative approaches resonate with audiences.
· Translate performance observations into actionable recommendations for future content.
· Use engagement insights to continuously refine creative ideas and improve content effectiveness.
· Prepare concise performance updates and contribute to client reporting where required.
5. Creator Content Review
· Review paid KOL and creator storyboards, scripts or proposed content when required.
· Recommend improvements to the content angle, storytelling, visual execution and brand integration to ensure the brand is represented effectively.
· Apply an understanding of social-first content to help creators produce work that feels authentic, engaging and aligned with brand objectives.
This role does not own influencer sourcing, contracting or paid media management.
6. Touch PR's Social Media Presence
· Support the development of Touch PR's own socials, with a particular focus on growing our TikTok presence.
· Contribute fresh ideas that showcase our agency culture, creative capabilities, campaign highlights, events and industry perspectives.
· Create content that strengthens our brand personality and demonstrates the quality of our work.
· Collaborate with colleagues across Singapore and Malaysia to gather content and coordinate contributions.
· Balance agency content with client deliverables, with client work taking priority.
7. AI & Creative Innovation
· Explore and use relevant AI tools to improve the efficiency of ideation, scripting, editing workflows, design development and creative refinement.
· Stay curious about new creative tools, platform features and emerging content formats.
· Use AI thoughtfully to enhance output and productivity while maintaining originality, brand accuracy and human creative judgement.
· Share useful tools, workflows and creative learnings with the wider team.
What We're Looking For
· Approximately 2–3 years of relevant experience in social media, digital content creation, creative production or a related field, ideally with experience working on consumer lifestyle and beauty brands.
· Strong portfolio demonstrating original social media content, particularly short-form video, photography, graphic design and other platform-native formats.
· Excellent visual instincts and a strong sense of composition, typography, colour, pacing and storytelling.
· Hands-on proficiency in shooting and editing content, particularly Reels and TikToks.
· Proficiency in relevant creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut or equivalent applications.
· Strong preference for candidates with a graphic design, multimedia, visual communications or similar creative background, or an equivalent portfolio demonstrating these skills.
· Good English copywriting skills, with the ability to write clear, sharp and engaging captions and on-screen copy.
· Understanding of Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn, including their different audiences, formats and content conventions.
· A genuine interest in social trends, digital culture, content creators and emerging storytelling formats.
· The ability to turn a brief into interesting content ideas, rather than relying solely on instructions or templates.
· Familiarity with social media analytics and interest in using performance insights to improve creative decisions.
· Familiarity with AI-powered creative tools, or a strong willingness to learn and experiment with them.
· Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines and feedback cycles independently.
· Able to produce high-quality social content efficiently and consistently, managing multiple deliverables and working to tight timelines without compromising on creative quality.
· Highly comfortable working remotely across teams and countries, with strong communication and collaboration skills to stay aligned, build relationships and keep projects moving without close supervision.
· Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset and the confidence to work with colleagues and clients across Singapore and Malaysia.
· Entrepreneurial and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership, build processes from the ground up, identify opportunities and help shape a newly created role within a growing agency.
· A responsible, client-centric attitude, with the initiative to flag issues early, solve problems and deliver on commitments.
· Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage. English proficiency is essential.
The Person We're Looking For
You're energetic, curious, visually driven and plugged into what is happening on social media. You notice interesting formats, references and trends, but you also know how to adapt them thoughtfully to different brands.
You enjoy the entire creative process, from developing an idea and planning a shoot to refining the edit and getting the caption just right. You're comfortable rolling up your sleeves and making things yourself.
You're not afraid to test new ideas, learn from what doesn't work and keep improving. At the same time, you understand that agency work requires more than creativity: you respect deadlines, communicate proactively, take feedback constructively and understand that client objectives come first.
You can work independently without becoming disconnected from the team. You know when to make a decision, when to ask a question and when to raise a concern.
Most importantly, you want to grow beyond simply producing content. You want to understand why it works, what audiences respond to and how creative decisions can help brands build meaningful engagement.
Reporting & Working Arrangement
