Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in automation design, machine design, or fixture design.
- Proficiency in CAD or CAM software (preferably SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD).
- Good understanding of mechanical systems, motion components, pneumatics, and basic control systems.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and able to manage design tasks independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to work under pressure and adapt to changing project priorities and tight timelines.
Responsibilities
- Design machines, fixtures, and mechanical systems based on customer or internal requirements.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Collaborate with Sales, Production, and Project Planning teams to understand requirements and ensure feasibility of designs.
- Work closely with Electrical, Control, and Software Engineers to integrate mechanical designs into complete automation solutions.
- Generate bill of materials (BOMs) and support the purchasing team with specifications.
- Involve in concept development, prototyping, and design reviews.
- Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, and testing phases.
- Ensure all designs are aligned with safety, functionality, and manufacturability standards.
- Maintain proper documentation for all designs and project files.
