Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • CePBFO Competency is Mandatory Requirement

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a Safety & Health Officer role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.

  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations, including relevant legislation and standards.

  • Proven ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identify hazards, and develop effective control measures to mitigate workplace risks.

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance and promote a safe working culture.

  • Skilled in conducting regular workplace safety inspections and audits, identifying non-compliance issues, and recommending corrective actions.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering engaging safety training programs to employees at all levels.

  • Proficiency in accident/incident investigation, root cause analysis, and the implementation of preventive measures.

  • Familiarity with emergency response planning, including drills and preparedness protocols.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaunt effectively with management, employees, and regulatory bodies.

  • Proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is essential for effective communication across the diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) regulations and company standards.

  • Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate them.

  • Lead and participate in accident and incident investigations, determining root causes, and implementing preventive measures to avoid recurrence.

  • Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs to all employees, ensuring awareness of OSH regulations, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.

  • Manage and coordinate emergency response plans, including drills and training, to ensure preparedness for various scenarios such as fires, chemical spills, or medical emergencies.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and permits, preparing and submitting required reports to regulatory bodies.

  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization by actively engaging with employees, management, and safety committees to foster a proactive approach to health and safety.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and other relevant health and safety data, utilizing this information for continuous improvement initiatives.
