Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1-2 years of proven experience in tax preparation or as a tax assistant.

  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or specific Malaysian tax software).

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.

  • Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax information clearly.

  • Accurate and efficient data entry skills with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management.

  • Ability to provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling, filing, and document management.

  • Familiarity with Malaysian tax laws and regulations is a plus.

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin (ZH) is required for client and internal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior tax consultants in preparing and filing various tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with current tax laws and regulations.

  • Perform bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling accounts to support tax preparation processes.

  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information, answer basic tax-related queries, and schedule appointments, maintaining a professional and helpful demeanor.

  • Accurately enter and manage client data and financial information into tax software and internal databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the tax department, including managing correspondence, organizing files, and handling general office duties.

  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, spreadsheet creation, and report generation to assist in tax research and client advisory services.

  • Conduct preliminary reviews of financial documents and tax forms to identify discrepancies or missing information, flagging them for senior staff attention.

  • Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and regulations through continuous learning and professional development to ensure accurate tax advice and preparation.
