Established in 1981, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is one of the founding Schools of the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Built on a culture of excellence, the School is renowned for its high academic standards and research. To support advanced research, the School hosts 13 research centres and facilities which are well-equipped with sophisticated and state-of-the-art equipment. Besides the 13 centres, there are more than 50 laboratories, supporting both the teaching and research activities in the School.
The university’s unique pedagogy integrates work and study, embracing authentic learning in a real-world environment through collaborations with key strategic partners. Its focus on applied research with business impact is aimed at helping industry innovate and grow. Targeted to be ready in 2024, SIT’s centralized campus within the larger Punggol Digital District will feature a vibrant learning environment where academia and industry will be tightly integrated with the community. SIT is also establishing strategic live test beds known as ‘Living Labs’ both within and beyond its upcoming Punggol campus to support greater experiential learning and strengthen its applied research offerings. The university’s pool of Engineering experts works with multi-disciplinary teams to drive strategic translational research in key areas such as energy resilience, sustainable infrastructure engineering and maintenance, and maritime engineering.

The successful candidates will have earned or be nearing completion of a doctorate in an engineering systems-related field and have solid grounding in one or more systems methodologies including, but not limited to, AI/ML, optimization, stochastic modelling, statistics, game theory, financial engineering, and simulation. Empirical, experimental, computational, and analytical research approaches are all welcome. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to developing and maintaining an active research program.

The Faculty of Engineering Technology and Built Environment (FETBE) came into existence in 2007 as a result of a synergetic merger between the School of Engineering and the School of Architecture and Built Environment, which were established in 1992 and 2005, respectively.
Supported by decades of accumulated experience in the education and industrial sectors, the faculty has evolved rapidly to become one of the most prestigious and innovative providers of engineering and architectural education, not only in Malaysia but throughout the region. Notably, the faculty offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that have gained national and international recognition.
We seek to fill positions in several areas including but not restricted to statistical and machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), operations research, data science, and industrial and systems engineering, with applications to healthcare, sustainability, supply chains and logistics, urban mobility, and quantitative finance.
