About the Role

You will play a key role in optimizing production processes, driving continuous improvement, and achieving company targets for efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate a diverse production team, ensuring the completion of production tasks according to defined flow, volume, timeframe, and quality specifications.
• Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team, promoting adherence to standards and actively participating in problem-solving initiatives.
• Monitor production performance using data analysis tools, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
• Collaborate effectively with other departments (e.g., supply chain, quality, process & equipment…) to address cross-functional challenges and ensure smooth production flow.
• Embrace and promote the use of digital tools and technologies to enhance production processes, data analysis, and decision-making.
• Coach and develop team members, providing regular feedback, identifying training needs, and conducting performance reviews.
• Create a positive and engaging work environment, fostering teamwork, open communication, and a culture of continuous learning.
• Contribute to global alignment initiatives by participating in continuous improvement projects and horizontal team meetings. This includes sharing best practices, collaborating with other departments and sites to increase standardization, and driving efficiency improvements across the Melexis network.
• Report to the local Production manager and is working in shifts covering 24/7 regime.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing), a related field (e.g., Operations Management, Supply Chain Management) or equivalent by experience.
• Proven experience in successfully leading and coaching a production team (minimum 3-5 years in a relevant role).
• Fluent in English and the local language.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001), and supply chain techniques.
• Proficient in problem-solving methodologies (e.g., PDCA, 5Why, Fishbone) and data analysis tools.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a team.
• Proactive and results-oriented, with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and achieving production targets.
• Adaptable and flexible, with the ability to take decisions, manage changing priorities and embrace new technologies and ways of working.

Required Skills

• Manufacturing Processes and Equipment: Strong understanding of the complete manufacturing process (e.g., wafer preparation, assembly, OSP).
• People Management: Ability to participate in the recruitment process (if applicable), and effectively onboard new team members, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and resources to succeed.
• Quality Management: Thorough understanding of quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 14001) and their implementation in daily work, procedures, and work instructions.
• Supply Chain Management: Able to interpret production planning and scheduling.
• Lean: Deep understanding of Lean principles (e.g., waste reduction, value stream mapping, 5S, Kanban) and their application in a manufacturing environment.
• Problem Solving: Ability to proactively identify and define production problems, including deviations from quality standards, process inefficiencies, and equipment malfunctions.
• Data Analysis and Digital Tools: Proficient in using data analysis tools to monitor production performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
• Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey information and collaborate with team members and other departments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in leading and facilitating Kaizen events to engage the team in identifying and implementing improvements.
• Ability to foster a Lean culture within the team, promoting continuous improvement, increasing value task, and standardized work practices.
• Experience in implementing CAPA to prevent recurrence of problems.
