Job Description

• Responsible for the overall environmental management in the organization in compliance with Environmental Quality Act 1974 and regulations.
• Managing workflow of subordinate employees, create team schedule and delegating tasks in compliance with the legal requirements.
• Ensuring their employees met the business gaols, deadlines and performance standard.
• Assessing the work performance of their employees and identifying areas that need improvement.
• Supervise environmental technician or subordinate and do job coordination in compliance with the legal and Department of Environmental requirements.
• To prepare, develop, review and revise the Environment Management Plan (EMP) to align with procedure, work instruction as well as other relevant documents (environmental report) to improve environmental performance at workplace.
• To plan and implement environmental mitigation action in order to ensure the plant operations compliance with EIA condition of approval, written approval and special approval granted by Department of Environment.
• To implement Environmental Main streaming Tools effectively in order to improve level of compliance of plant at operational stage.
• Liaise with government agencies on matters related environmental management particularly Department of Environment.
• Plans and conduct in-house audit and lead the team to investigate when the monitoring results show non-compliance and advice plant personnel for corrective action.
• To plan and conduct environmental training to all employees and develop the subordinate to improve their level of competency,
• Training and on boarding new hires to make sure they understand their roles.
• To ensure safety and health of subordinate when assign any tasks to them.
• Reporting employee’s performance records and evaluation to QHSSE Manager.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of environmental management experience in heavy manufacturing, smelting, steel, mining, or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of the Environmental Quality Act 1974, DOE Malaysia regulations, ISO 14001, and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience in managing air emissions, scheduled waste, wastewater treatment, environmental monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
• Good leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience supervising teams and coordinating with government authorities and external stakeholders.
• Registered with BEM and/or possessing DOE-recognised environmental competency certifications is an added advantage.
