Job Description
Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Brand Performance Analyst analyses brand, sales and market performance data and turns it into clear, ready-to-use insight that supports the Brand Manager's strategic and commercial decisions. The role also carries a supporting admin and reporting workload that keeps the underlying data accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting & Analytics
Own monthly and quarterly brand, inventory, e-commerce, Business Review and writeoff reporting end-to-end, on a fixed deadline calendar
Prepare sales gap analysis, marketing spend tracking, promotional ROI calculations and the competitor price/promotion tracker
Build and maintain templates, single-source data models and dashboards that reduce manual re-keying over time
Retailer Portal & New Product Administration
Manage retailer portal submissions, scan sales, withdrawal reports and other retailer data extraction (admin)
Handle new product registration, listing files, content Excel, declarations, pack shots and sample arrangement (admin)
Supply, Finance & Compliance
Track product ageing, short-expiry exposure, maintain the rolling forecast base, and check shipment documents against purchase orders
Compile incentive rebates, trade claims, product-damage claims and brand expense packs (admin)
Maintain certifications, the product information library, trade letter drafts and agency factsheets (admin)
Field Tracking & Exception Flagging
Maintain the distribution matrix, audit in-store photo compliance, and track point-ofsale material stock and deployment
Escalate to the Brand Manager against agreed thresholds (e.g. write-off exposure, forecast variance, distribution gaps) rather than simply reporting the numbers
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Statistics, Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field
1 to 3 years of experience in an accounting, financial analysis or data/commercial analyst role, ideally in FMCG or a distributor environment
Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data models) and able to produce PowerPoint to the brand template unsupervised
Comfortable with statistical and financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend/forecast modelling, and expense and rebate reconciliation
Retail scan data literacy (e.g. Nielsen/IRI-type panel or category data)
Working knowledge of retailer portals and standard sales-data systems (e.g. sell-in/sellout tracking systems), or demonstrated ability to pick up similar systems quickly
Dashboarding experience (Power BI, Tableau or advanced Excel dashboards) is desirable
High accuracy against a fixed, recurring deadline calendar, and comfortable flagging exceptions and risks proactively
Organised and process-minded: able to build and follow SOPs, and to suggest where a recurring manual task can be templated or automated
Comfortable using generative AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) to lift productivity in reporting, drafting and analysis; prior experience is a plus but not required, and training will be provided
