Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the overall operations of the Housekeeping Department to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation throughout the property.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain housekeeping policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise daily housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, offices, and back-of-house areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with quality, cleanliness, and brand standards.
  • Recruit, train, coach, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Prepare staff schedules, duty rosters, and work assignments to ensure efficient manpower utilization.
  • Monitor departmental productivity and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manage housekeeping budgets, control departmental expenses, and monitor labour and operating costs.
  • Oversee inventory management for linens, uniforms, guest amenities, cleaning supplies, and housekeeping equipment.
  • Coordinate the procurement of housekeeping supplies and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and replacement of housekeeping equipment and machinery.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, Security, and other departments to ensure smooth hotel operations.
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints, special requests, and service recovery in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all housekeeping operations comply with health, safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Monitor lost-and-found procedures and ensure accurate documentation and safekeeping of guest belongings.
  • Prepare departmental reports, budgets, forecasts, and performance analyses for management review.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives and ensure readiness for internal audits, external inspections, and certification requirements.
  • Identify training needs and implement continuous learning and development programmes for housekeeping staff.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and service quality.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Hotel Management or the General Manager.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM5,800.00 per month
