CNC Technician Job Summary

A CNC Technician sets up, programs, operates, and maintains Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery to manufacture precision parts. They interpret blueprints, oversee production cycles, and troubleshoot equipment to ensure parts meet exact tolerances while adhering to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Programming & Setup: Load CNC programs (G-code, CAD/CAM). Create or modify CNC program after discussion and approval from Engineer. Set up raw materials, tooling, and fixtures according to job specifications.
• Machine Operation: Perform test runs (dry runs) and adjust feed rates and spindle speeds during the machining process.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges) to ensure compliance with blueprints and tolerances.
• Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct daily maintenance (e.g., fluid/coolant checks, lubrication). Troubleshoot mechanical or programming malfunctions and report faults to supervisors.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean work environment and strictly adhere to OSHA or local safety regulations and ISO standards.

Core Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A vocational diploma or certification in machine tool technology, CAD/CAM, or mechanical engineering is a distinct advantage.
• Technical Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
• Math & Computers: Proficiency in algebra, geometry, and computer-operated machinery.
• Experience: Typically, 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience working in a machine shop (CNC Turning/Milling with Fanuc controller) or production environment.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
