Acting as the primary technical lead on-site, this role involves managing sub-contractors, ensuring strict adherence to Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) electrical standards, and bridging the gap between design blueprints and physical installation. The goal is to deliver high-performance AC and DC charging solutions safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with Malaysian regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1.    On-Site Technical Supervision

  • Supervise the physical installation of EV chargers, including cable laying, trenching, and mounting, ensuring work matches the Approved Construction Drawings (ACD).
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with the Malaysian Standard (MS IEC 60364) and Energy Commission requirements.
  • Chargeman Liaison- If not a Chargeman themselves, the Supervisor must work closely with one to certify PW4/Charge man for the switchboard (DB/MSB) upgrades and safety protection settings.

2.    Testing & Commissioning

  • Functional Testing by conducting final power-on tests, verifying load balancing and earthing resistance values.
  • Verify that the charger communicates correctly with the company’s backend software (EI Charge apps) via 4G/Wi-Fi.
  • Lead the final walkthrough with the client or site owner to demonstrate functionality and safety features.

3.    Regulatory & Safety Management

  • Implement NIOSH, CIDB and Client safety standards on-site. This includes managing "Permit to Work" (PTW) for high-risk areas like Condominium basement.
  • Assist the Project Coordinator in verifying that site-specific permits from local councils (PBT) and TNB are active before breaking ground.
  • Quality Audits thru conducting regular site inspections to prevent "substandard material and workmanship" that could lead to non-compliance to ACD, fire hazards or charger downtime.

4.    Contractor & Resource Management

  • Manage sub-contractors (electricians and civil workers), temporary workers / foreign workers in ensuring they adhere to the project timeline and safety requirement.
  • Track the delivery of critical components (chargers, pedestals, and specialized cables) to the site to prevent project delayed.
  • Act as the first point of contact for technical "surprises" on-site, such as unforeseen underground utilities or insufficient grid capacity.
  • Site housekeeping and proper storage of high value components to prevent damage and theft at the site.

5.    Documentation & Reporting

  • Daily Progress Reports (DPR)-Provide photo-documented updates to the Project Manager regarding milestones and delays.
  • As-Built Drawings: Record any deviations from the original plan to ensure the Maintenance Team has accurate data for future repairs.
