The Mechanical / Design Draughtman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, 2D and 3D models, and manufacturing schematics for mechanical equipment, steel fabrication, and industrial systems. This role supports the engineering and project teams by translating design concepts into detailed drawings that comply with company standards, project requirements, and international design guidelines.

2. Scope of Position

The Mechanical / Design Draughtman is responsible for preparing accurate technical drawings, 2D and 3D models, and manufacturing schematics for mechanical equipment, steel fabrication, and industrial systems. This role supports the engineering and project teams by translating design concepts into detailed drawings that comply with company standards, project requirements, and international design guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, manufacturing schematics, 2D & 3D digital models of mechanical equipment based on measurements, specifications and engineering inputs.
• Collect initial drawings, calculations and design concepts from engineers and consolidate all relevant data into coherent and complete initial design models for review and revision.
• To coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details and recommend modifications as needed according to company standards and best practices, visit job sites when necessary to get accurate site measurements
• To annotate and verify all numerical designation and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs and manual calculations when necessary.
• To communicate with manufacturing personnel to create detailed layouts prior to production, and assist in designing, creating and testing production molds
• To provide support to the engineering team as needed by creating technical drawings and digital models within deadlines and utilizing multiple methods to ensure deliverables include all relevant design details.
• To assist in ongoing projects to standardize and unify design document standards by participating in meetings and preparing presentation materials as necessary.
• To prepare and submit daily design and drafting reports in timely manner.
• To search and investigate to comply with International Design Standards and Guidelines to adopt them into the design of our products, equipment and systems.
• To attend weekly and monthly internal meeting to update project progress
• Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Background and Skills

Min. Education:

• Recognised Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.

Min Experience:

• 5 years mechanical design & drafting experience related to steel fabrication and installation of industrial equipment & machinery and steel structures.

Other Experience/Training/Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ZWCAD (2D & 3D) softwares.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality drawings and designs within agreed timelines.
• Hands-on experience in co-ordinating and liaison with project and production departments.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
