Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the Group’s overall financial strategy, financial management, governance and risk management. The CFO serves as a key strategic partner to the CEO and Board in driving sustainable growth, profitability and long-term financial stability across the Group and its subsidiaries
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Business Planning
Develop and execute Group financial strategy aligned with business objectives
Advise CEO and Board on financial performance, strategy, and growth opportunities
Lead long‑term financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Evaluate financial viability of new businesses, projects, and investments
Support strategic initiatives (M&A, restructuring, joint ventures, corporate exercises)
Financial Performance & Management Reporting
Oversee financial performance of Group, subsidiaries, and business units
Monitor revenue, profitability, margins, costs, and KPIs
Review monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts/reports
Lead Group consolidation and ensure accurate, timely reporting
Provide financial analysis and insights for decision‑making
Drive corrective action for underperforming businesses or budget variances
Treasury, Cash Flow & Funding
Oversee cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management
Develop funding and capital management strategy
Manage banking facilities, financing arrangements, and relationships
Ensure efficient allocation/utilisation of funds across subsidiaries
Monitor financial commitments, debt obligations, and funding needs
Optimise capital structure and financing costs
Budgeting & Cost Management
Lead annual budgeting and forecasting process
Monitor performance against approved budgets
Drive cost optimisation and financial discipline
Collaborate with Business Unit Heads to improve profitability
Review major CAPEX, OPEX, and investment proposals
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Establish and strengthen financial policies, SOPs, and internal controls
Ensure compliance with MFRS, taxation, statutory requirements, regulations
Oversee financial risk management (liquidity, credit, investment, exposure)
Safeguard Group assets with appropriate controls
Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, regulators, and advisers
Support Board/committees on governance and risk matters
Investment & Corporate Finance
Evaluate investments, acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships
Lead financial modelling, feasibility studies, and due diligence
Support fundraising and capital‑raising activities
Assess investment returns, risks, and commercial viability
Monitor performance of approved investments/projects
Finance Team Leadership
Lead and develop Group Finance function (Controller, Treasury, Accounts)
Define responsibilities, KPIs, and performance expectations
Develop finance talent and succession planning
Promote collaboration between Finance and other functions
Drive improvements in systems, automation, and reporting
Board & Stakeholder Management
Present financial performance, forecasts, and recommendations to CEO/Board
Provide clear insights to support business decisions
Maintain relationships with banks, auditors, regulators, investors, stakeholders
Represent Group on financial matters when required
