Job Overview

We are looking for a Freelance Automation / FA Mechanical Engineer with strong English writing skills to create professional technical blog content for industrial components and automation products.

This is a fully remote, part-time freelance position, ideal for engineers with experience in factory automation, mechanical design, machine building, equipment engineering, or industrial machinery.

You will use your engineering knowledge to explain product applications, selection criteria, engineering principles, and real-world automation solutions to a professional engineering audience.

Responsibilities

• Research and write clear, accurate English technical articles about industrial components and automation.
• Cover topics such as FA, mechanical design, linear motion, transmission components, bearings, gears, aluminum profiles, fixtures, tooling, and automation equipment.
• Explain product selection, technical differences, applications, and engineering considerations.
• Review product specifications to ensure technical accuracy.
• Work with our product/marketing team to develop relevant topics and revise content when needed.
• Maintain a professional, practical, and non-promotional engineering style.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical engineering, automation, FA, machine design, equipment engineering, or a related field.
• Practical experience with industrial machinery or automation equipment.
• Good understanding of mechanical components and their applications.
• Strong written English and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Able to independently research technical topics and meet deadlines.
• Technical writing or engineering content experience is preferred but not required.

• Experience with linear guides, ball screws, actuators, bearings, gears, shafts, couplings, fixtures, or aluminum profiles.
• Previous technical blog, documentation, B2B content, or SEO writing experience.
• Published engineering writing samples or portfolio.

Compensation

US$15–30 per article, depending on article length, technical complexity, and the candidate's experience.

• Higher rates may be considered for more technical or in-depth articles
