The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production processes in glove manufacturing to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality output. The role focuses on improving productivity, minimizing waste, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and maintaining continuous production flow in processes such as dipping, leaching, curing, stripping, and packing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Control

• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer demand.
• Monitor production performance against targets (output, yield, downtime).
• Coordinate with Supply Chain and Maintenance teams to ensure material and equipment readiness.

2. Process Optimization

• Continuously improving manufacturing processes for higher efficiency and reduced costs.
• Optimize critical glove production processes such as: Latex/nitrile compounding, Former cleaning and preparation, Dipping process, Vulcanization and curing
• Analyze process parameters (temperature, dwell time, chemical concentration) to ensure consistent quality.

3. Quality Assurance

• Ensure gloves meet quality standards (AQL, tensile strength, thickness, pinhole test).
• Collaborate with QA/QC team to investigate defects (e.g., holes, stains, weak spots).
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

4. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving

• Identify and resolve production issues (machine breakdowns, process instability).
• Conduct root cause analysis using tools
• Implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Work closely with maintenance team for preventive and corrective maintenance.

6. Cost Control & Waste Reduction

• Monitor raw material consumption (latex, nitrile, chemicals).
• Reduce waste, scrap, and rework.

7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Enforce safe work practices in chemical handling and production areas.
• Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in: Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or Polymer Science (preferred for glove industry).

Experience

• 2–5+ years in manufacturing (experience in gloves, rubber, or latex industry preferred)
• Familiarity with glove manufacturing processes is a strong advantage. Knowledge of: Rubber/latex/nitrile processing, Dipping technology and process control systems
• Proficiency in data analysis (Excel, SPC tools)

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
