Responsibilities
Purpose
· To assist the Technical Superintendent in all electrical equipment maintenance and asset management activities within WSMLD lay-up services for cold lay-up vessels at Labuan (Brunei Bay Anchorage).
Main responsibilities
· To oversee the Maintenance Team (Electrical).
· To be responsible for all vessels assigned by Management in relation to electrical maintenance.
· To perform routine maintenance in accordance with agreed requirements.
· To familiarize, educate, and train all team members and watchmen on the safe and correct handling of shipboard machinery and equipment, including safety items.
· To be available on short notice to respond to operational emergencies.
· To provide overall supervision to check and inspect watchmen’s critical equipment, including Fire Alarm Panels, Bilge Alarms, GPS, VHF, batteries, portable battery chargers, and other electrical items.
· To provide overall supervision to check and inspect the proper operation of dehumidifier (DH) machines.
· To provide overall supervision to check and inspect shore generator operations and parameters.
· To check shore connection panels and switchboards (e.g., voltage and frequency) to ensure they are in the correct order as per vessel requirements.
· To maintain and update reports on defect issues related to DH machines and other WSMLD equipment on board cold lay-up vessels.
· To attend initial meetings for new vessels arriving for cold lay-up, provide daily work progress updates, and support commissioning of shore generators to vessel shore connections.
· To communicate with team members regarding any electrical issues and challenges.
· To be available on short notice to respond to operational emergencies.
· To serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).
Qualifications Mandatory requirements
· Minimum of three (3) years’ working experience in the shipping industry, specifically in operations and maintenance.
· Demonstrated experience with maintenance and electrical systems.
· Diploma/Degree holders in relevant certifications from a recognized institution.
Additional preferences
· Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and equipment for ship's equipment and machineries
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple operational and maintenance priorities effectively.
· Good communication and teamwork abilities with both operational and technical personnel.
Pay: RM8,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
