Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead the stewarding team to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, dishwashing areas, storage rooms, and waste disposal areas.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and cutlery are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly.
  • Develop and monitor cleaning schedules and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
  • Manage stewarding staff schedules, attendance, training, and performance.
  • Monitor inventory of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and operating supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Coordinate with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to support operational requirements.
  • Oversee waste management and recycling practices to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with the maintenance department.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.
  • Assist during special events, banquets, or high-volume operations as required.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of stewarding experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, HACCP, and workplace safety standards.
  • Experience in managing a team within a hotel, central kitchen, restaurant, or catering environment.
  • Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong team leadership and staff development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and cost management.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency.

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
