The Role

We are looking for a Service Technician to perform on‑site installation, wiring, commissioning support, routine inspection, and basic fault handling for low‑voltage (LV) distribution cabinets. You will work alongside engineers to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.

Location: [JB/KL] | Travel: Frequent

Key Responsibilities

· Installation & Wiring – Cabinet positioning, busbar connections, primary/secondary wiring, cable laying, and terminal tightening per drawings.

· Commissioning Support – Assist engineers with power‑on testing, parameter setup, and no‑load/load trials; record operational data (meter readings, temperature, noise, etc.).

· Inspection & Maintenance – Perform routine inspections on running equipment; check component conditions, busbar temperature rise, and connection points; carry out cleaning, tightening, and lubrication.

· Basic Fault Handling – Independently resolve simple faults (replace indicator lights, fuses, MCBs, auxiliary contacts); perform preliminary fault diagnosis and escalate complex issues.

· Service Support – Maintain service records (man‑hours, material consumption); keep work areas clean and organized; assist with customer training as needed.

· Safety Compliance – Strictly follow electrical safety procedures, wear proper PPE, and comply with all customer site safety regulations.

Qualifications

Education: Technical secondary school/vocational school or above in Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field.

Experience: 2+ years in LV cabinet installation, wiring, commissioning, or field service. Experience in industrial plants or construction projects is a plus.

Technical Skills:

· Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams

· Proficient in primary/secondary wiring and terminal connections

· Familiar with common LV components (breakers, contactors, relays, indicators, etc.)

· Skilled in using hand tools (screwdrivers, wire-strippers, crimpers, multimeters, etc.)

· Basic knowledge of electrical safety practices

Soft Skills: Strong hands‑on ability, attention to detail, able to safely perform site-based electrical work, team‑oriented, adaptable to frequent travel.

Certifications: Valid Low Voltage Electrical Operation Certificate (mandatory). High Voltage, Welding, or work-at-height certification.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
