ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a hybrid role demanding a proactive driver and a deep technical expert. You will primarily own the physical deployment of Kaiterra’s environmental sensors into occupied commercial buildings. Alongside your deployment projects, you will act as an escalation point for complex technical cases, stepping in to solve the most difficult hardware and network challenges that arise in the field.

You own the journey of getting our devices from a signed deal to a fully live, correctly installed, data-reporting deployment. Once a deal closes, you take ownership of the entire rollout—coordinating general contractors, low-voltage installers, IT teams, project managers, and client-side consultants. When site issues arise, you are the person who directly calls installers and network admins to unblock work rather than sending passive emails. You will resolve complex floor-plan mapping and high-level technical roadblocks yourself, relying on deep, conceptual full-stack diagnostics rather than just procedural memory. You will also serve as a polished, client-facing representative to Fortune 500 executives, translating complex technical products into clear business realities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Deployment Ownership

• Scope the deployment alongside Sales (pre-close): Partner with Sales during the quoting stage to translate a customer's space into the right solution—determining appropriate device and gateway quantities, BMS integration pathways, and optimal placement.
• Drive the install to completion: Act as the accountable manager who owns the plan, client relationship, and outcome. Anticipate risks, coordinate logistics, and directly call stakeholders to unblock delays.
• Executive Communication & Stakeholder Management: Lead calls with Fortune 500 IT directors and facility leaders. Independently write executive-ready communications and resolve deployment delays diplomatically.

Complex Technical Escalations

• Manage High-Level Cases: Serve as the frontline technical expert for complex, escalated field cases. This is not routine ticketing; you will step in to troubleshoot and resolve the most challenging, multi-layered technical roadblocks our clients face.
• Advanced Diagnostics: Independently diagnose and resolve live install failures and complex routing issues. Execute a logical, layered diagnostic approach (Power -> Physical -> IP/DHCP -> Port/VLAN -> Firewall/Proxy -> Protocol/Packet Routing).

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Physical Technology Experience: 3+ years deploying physical hardware into occupied commercial buildings (e.g., connected/IoT devices, AV, security, low-voltage systems, or network infrastructure). Candidates whose experience is purely software release, SaaS implementation, or office-bound project management will not be a fit.
• BMS Exposure: Direct, practical exposure to and working familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC environments.
• True Project Ownership: A proven driver mentality. You must be an accountable manager who owns the outcome and directly unblocks site issues, not a passive coordinator who relays updates or operates inside a dispatch structure.
• Conceptual Full-Stack Diagnostics: Strong ability to diagnose complex network architecture. You must understand underlying IoT protocol architecture (e.g., LoRaWAN, LNS, packet decoding location) and possess the ability to diagnose cross-subnet routing and reachability issues independently, without defaulting to client IT.
• Fortune 500 Executive Polish: The communication polish, business judgment, and technical clarity to succinctly explain complex hardware/software mechanics to external stakeholders and lead high-stakes client calls.

• Proactive Ownership: You don't let details slip. You anticipate what could go wrong before a shipment slips or a crew arrives unprepared. When something is blocked, you find a way through it immediately.
• Technical Skepticism & Depth: You don't rely on jargon. You understand the physical real-world tradeoffs of networking, power, and protocols, knowing exactly where your knowledge stops and when to pull in engineering.
• Clear Escalation & Discernment: You weigh account importance and business context when deciding how to resolve issues, balancing customer experience against cost, and you raise issues early and clearly.

LOCATION & WORKING HOURS

This is a full-time, remote role based in the APAC region. You must be located in APAC but have the ability to work primary hours that overlap with North American business hours.

Because deployments happen on the ground all over the world, the role requires genuine schedule flexibility. Most coordination happens asynchronously, but you will occasionally need to take off-hour calls to brief installers, resolve live installation issues, or interface with global client stakeholders.
