Manufacturing Excellence Manager (Process, Reliability & Yield)
We are looking for an experienced food manufacturing / factory operations professional who can translate hands-on production experience into measurable improvements in process efficiency, equipment reliability, yield, waste and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive measurable improvements across manufacturing operations covering process optimisation, production efficiency, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, yield, waste reduction, capacity and OEE.
- Establish operational baselines, identify production constraints and lead cross-functional improvement projects from root-cause analysis through implementation and sustained results, supported by clear before/after data.
- Strengthen production line performance, with particular focus on capacity, line speed, downtime, breakdowns, rejects, changeover losses and output.
- Develop and implement L1–L3 preventive maintenance practices for critical equipment, including equipment criticality, PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR and breakdown reduction.
- Improve manufacturing yield through end-to-end material reconciliation, process loss analysis and loss reduction, ensuring raw materials are converted into finished products efficiently.
- Identify opportunities to improve production processes, equipment utilisation and plant capacity, while maintaining product quality, food safety and operational standards.
- Support new product industrialisation, from production trials and process validation through scale-up and stable commercial production.
- Partner closely with Production, Operations, R&D, QA, Warehouse, Procurement, IT and Finance to resolve operational issues and deliver sustainable business improvements.
- Establish and monitor key manufacturing performance indicators, translating operational data into practical improvement actions and measurable business results.
- Build a continuous improvement culture by coaching production and operations teams to apply root cause analysis, problem-solving and data-driven improvement practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in food manufacturing / FMCG / food processing environments, with hands-on exposure to production operations.
- Candidates with Production Manager, Factory Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or equivalent plant leadership experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of production processes, machinery, preventive maintenance, OEE, yield, waste, downtime and manufacturing performance.
- Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements in productivity, capacity, yield, reliability, cost or waste reduction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert production data into practical actions.
- Able to work across functions and influence Production, Engineering/Maintenance, QA, R&D and other support teams to achieve sustainable results.
- Hands-on, data-driven and commercially minded, with the ability to move between shop-floor issues and management-level improvement initiatives.
