Role Description

This is an on-site volunteer role based in Bintulu, Sarawak in conjunction with the Sarawak AgroFest 2026 in Bintulu. Volunteers will assist with day-to-day activities such as supporting field demonstrations, gathering basic observational data visitors, and helping explain AquFish solutions to visiting farmers and partners. The role may include assisting with setup and maintenance of equipment, and providing general logistical support during the event. Volunteers will collaborate with the AquFish team, follow safety and operational guidelines, and contribute ideas to improve processes and community engagement.

Qualifications

• MUST be based in Bintulu, Sarawak.
• Available between 25th September until 4th October.
• Interest in aquaculture, agriculture, environmental sustainability, or related fields, with a willingness to learn about smart AI technologies and Startup Culture.
• Basic communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact respectfully with fish farmers, team members, local community partners, and the general public.
• Organizational and reliability skills, such as following instructions, managing simple tasks, and maintaining accurate basic records or notes.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team, with a positive attitude and openness to feedback.
• Fluency in local languages and/or English is beneficial; prior experience in community work or technical assistance is an advantage but not required.
