About the role

Pharmacy Assistant role at Permai Polyclinics Fortuna, Kota Kinabalu.

This is a full-time, shift-based position in a 24-hour clinic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, labelling and arranging medications according to prescriptions and the doctor's instructions

• Dispense medications to patients under the supervision and direction of the doctor or authorised healthcare professional

• Explain basic medication instructions clearly to patients, including dosage, frequency and storage requirements

• Maintain accurate records of medications received, dispensed, returned or disposed

• Monitor medication and medical-supply stock levels and prepare restocking or purchase requests

• Check medication expiry dates regularly and ensure items are arranged according to the First-Expire, First-Out (FEFO) method

• Receive deliveries and verify the quantity, condition and expiry dates of supplied items

• Ensure medications are stored safely and at the appropriate temperature

• Maintain the cleanliness, safety and organisation of the dispensary and medication-storage areas

• Assist with clinic registration, billing and other administrative duties when required

• Assist with procurement of medications

About you

• Certificate or Diploma in Pharmacy, Pharmacy Assistance or a related field is preferred

• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply

• Previous experience in a clinic, hospital, pharmacy or healthcare setting will be an advantage

• Basic knowledge of medications, stock management and dispensing procedures

• Able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia and English

• Ability to communicate in Mandarin or local languages is an advantage

• Computer literate and able to learn clinic-management systems

• Careful, responsible and attentive to detail

• Friendly, helpful and able to communicate professionally with patients

• Able to work independently and as part of a healthcare team

• Ability to speak in Mandarin is an added advantage
