Company Description

IOI Palm Wood Sdn Bhd (IOI Palm Wood) is a subsidiary of IOI Corporation Berhad, a leading global integrated and sustainable palm oil player that is listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

Established in 2020, we are Malaysia's first manufacturing plant to commercially and sustainably convert unused oil palm trunks into eco-friendly, sustainable and high-performance palm wood panels for the furniture and building industries.

Role Description

• Lead the monthly financial accounts closing process and ensure financial reports are prepared accurately and on a timely basis in compliance with MFRS.

• Review and approve journal entries, payment vouchers, receipts, and all accounting entries posted by the Accounts Executive and Accounts Officers, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

• Supervise monthly inventory stocktakes and resolve inventory-related discrepancies, ensuring inventories are completely and accurately reflected in financial accounts and reports.

• Review and verify all work outputs prepared by the Accounts Executive and Accounts Officers, including but not limited to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable reports, bank reconciliations, payment vouchers, and inventory reports.

• Prepare monthly financial performance analysis and costing analysis of high quality on a timely basis, and present findings to the Finance Manager and senior management.

• Coordinate and lead the preparation of audit schedules, information and supporting data required by external and internal auditors; attend to audit queries and ensure timely clearance of audit issues.

• Prepare tax schedules, data and information required by the tax agent; attend to queries for finalisation of the company's annual income tax filing, including quarterly tax provision computations and revision of estimated tax payables (6th, 9th, and 11th month CP204A submissions).

• Assist the Finance Manager in the annual budget preparation process and quarterly forecasting exercises.

• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, regulatory authorities, and other departments to ensure full compliance with statutory, audit, and regulatory requirements.

• Provide mentoring, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to the Accounts Executive and Accounts Officers, and ensure the smooth operation of the department in the absence of the Finance Manager.

• Support the Finance Manager in planning, implementing, and executing business projects and special assignments as required.

• Perform any other tasks and assignments assigned by the Finance Manager or CEO from time to time.

Qualifications

• A recognised Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.

• Professional qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA Malaysia, or equivalent) are strongly preferred; candidates who are partial ACCA/CIMA completers with significant experience will be considered.

• Minimum 7 years of relevant commercial accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or in a professional services firm (audit/accounting) with post-qualification commercial exposure.

• Prior supervisory or team leadership experience is required.
