About the Role
Join our team as an Assistant Test Engineer, where you will help design, develop, and implement end-to-end manufacturing test strategies for new electromechanical products. In this role, you will bridge the gap between R&D and manufacturing, taking ownership of test hardware, software, and procedures from early New Product Introduction (NPI) through full production scale-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Automation: Design, build, and qualify scalable manufacturing test systems, custom fixtures, and automated test scripts (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic) from the ground up.
- NPI & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with R&D during early-stage design to define critical test coverage, validate product specifications, and embed Design for Test (DFT) and Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Root Cause Analysis & Yield Optimization: Collaborate with Senior Engineers to investigate complex yield issues, perform systematic root-cause analysis, and deploy permanent corrective actions to maximize production quality.
- Tech Innovation: Evaluate and introduce next-generation manufacturing test technologies and methodologies to continuously improve test accuracy, cycle time, and cost-efficiency.
- Operations & Mentorship: Develop comprehensive training materials, preventive maintenance plans, and troubleshooting guides to upskill Test Technicians on the production line.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing test or NPI environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in test automation scripting (Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic, or similar).
- Strong background in electromechanical systems, DC circuits, sensors, and reading engineering schematics/drawings.
- Practical working knowledge of DFT and DFM methodologies.
- Problem-Solving: Proven track record in structured root-cause analysis and troubleshooting complex hardware failures.
- Must be able to work night shift
- Soft Skills: Strong initiative, clear communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively across R&D, Quality, and Operations.
