Role Description The Radio Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Terengganu, Malaysia. This role is responsible for operating and monitoring radio communication systems to ensure reliable, clear, and secure transmission of information between field teams, vessels, and control centers. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining communication logs, managing call signs and channels, and relaying operational messages and emergency alerts in a timely manner. The Radio Operator will perform routine checks, basic troubleshooting, and minor maintenance on radio equipment to uphold safety and operational standards. The role also involves coordinating with operations, safety, and security teams, following established communication protocols, and supporting drills and training exercises.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Radio Communication and operation of Radio systems.
  • Candidates should possess strong Communication skills for clear, accurate, and timely information relay.
  • Candidates should possess experience related to Military or disciplined operational environments (asset, not mandatory).
  • Candidates should possess Training experience in communication procedures, safety protocols, or emergency response (asset, not mandatory).
  • Relevant technical certification or vocational qualification in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a radio operator, dispatcher, or in a similar communication-focused role is advantageous.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, follow standard operating procedures, and prioritize safety.
  • Working knowledge of English and Bahasa Malaysia; additional regional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as operationally required.
