Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Account Executive to join our team.
The ideal candidate must be able to handle full sets of accounts independently and have practical experience managing different types of business entities, including Sdn. Bhd., PLT and Partnership.
You should have good knowledge of Malaysian taxation, payroll, statutory compliance and e-Invoice, and be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Handle full set of accounts independently, including:
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- General Ledger (GL)
- Bank reconciliation
- Journal entries
- Fixed assets
- Accruals and prepayments
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documents for year-end audit.
- Manage accounting records for Sdn. Bhd., PLT and Partnership entities.
- Monitor cash flow, outstanding receivables and payables.
Taxation & Compliance
- Handle tax-related matters, including:
- Corporate income tax
- Tax computation and tax estimates
- Tax filing and submission
- Liaising with tax agents when required
- Assist with SST and other statutory compliance matters, where applicable.
- Ensure accounting and statutory submissions are completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, bankers and other external parties.
E-Invoice:
- Manage the company's e-Invoice implementation and daily operations.
- Ensure invoices and e-Invoice transactions are issued accurately and within the required timelines.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to e-Invoice.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and relevant parties regarding e-Invoice matters.
- Keep updated on changes to Malaysia e-Invoice requirements and ensure proper compliance.
Payroll & Staff Administration:
- Handle monthly payroll processing accurately and on a timely basis.
- Maintain employee payroll records and salary-related documentation.
- Process and submit statutory contributions, including:
- EPF
- SOCSO
- EIS
- PCB/MTD
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and salary summaries.
- Handle staff claims, allowances, deductions, overtime and other payroll adjustments.
- Ensure payroll-related records are properly maintained and confidential.
- Assist with employee income tax matters, including EA Forms and PCB-related requirements.
- Liaise with relevant statutory bodies and payroll service providers when required.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with applicable Malaysian employment and statutory requirements.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist management with financial analysis, budgeting and accounting-related matters.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Malaysian accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
- Improve accounting, payroll and financial processes where necessary.
- Perform other accounting and finance duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Diploma / Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong experience in handling full set accounts independently.
- Experience handling Sdn. Bhd., PLT and Partnership accounts is highly preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Malaysian taxation and accounting practices.
- Practical experience in monthly payroll processing and statutory contributions.
- Familiar with EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB/MTD.
- Familiar with Malaysia e-Invoice requirements and processes.
- Experience dealing with auditors, tax agents and company secretaries.
- Good knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Responsible, proactive and able to take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with experience in SME accounting, education/childcare businesses or managing multiple entities will have an added advantage.
Candidates with LCCI, ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent professional qualifications are encouraged to apply.
