About the role

This is a customer-facing and field-based position involving regular visits to PETRONAS Operating Units (OPUs) across Malaysia. You will work closely with customers to support their existing devices, conduct device inspections, coordinate replacements, understand operational challenges and identify suitable hardware and software solutions for their field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Visit PETRONAS OPUs regularly to provide on-site customer and technical support.

• Conduct device inspections, basic troubleshooting and condition assessments.

• Support device repair, warranty, replacement and upgrade activities.

• Maintain records of deployed devices and identify upcoming replacement requirements.

• Engage with users to understand their daily operations, challenges and application requirements.

• Identify opportunities to improve field operations through digitalization.

• Recommend suitable intrinsically safe smartphones, tablets, accessories and software solutions.

• Identify customer use cases and recommend suitable solutions for applications such as Push-to-Talk (PTT), lone-worker protection, digital inspection, operator rounds, barcode/QR scanning, remote assistance, work orders and other connected-worker applications.

• Conduct product demonstrations, Proof of Concept (POC), trials and technical evaluations.

• Gather customer feedback and translate operational requirements into technical solutions.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, IT, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science or related field.

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in presales, technical support, field service, enterprise mobility or Oil & Gas.

• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Comfortable communicating and working directly with customers.

• Interested in mobile technology, software and industrial digitalization.

• Able to work independently and manage multiple customer requirements.

• Willing to travel frequently to PETRONAS sites throughout Malaysia.

• Possess a valid driving licence and willing to travel for customer visits.
