About the role

Responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of goods hoists, ensuring work is completed safely and according to approved drawings, manufacturer instructions, and company requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Install and assemble goods hoist structures, guide rails, platforms, gates, and lifting mechanisms

• Carry out mechanical fitting, alignment, drilling, and fabrication work as required

• Install electrical wiring, control panels, limit switches, and door interlocks within assigned competency

• Perform preventive maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, adjustment, and replacement of worn components

• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults involving hoists, motors, brakes, control systems, and safety devices

• Assist engineers with testing, commissioning, load testing, and inspection preparation

• Attend customer breakdown calls and carry out repairs at site

• Record service findings, work completed, parts replaced, and outstanding defects

• Explain basic operating procedures and routine care to customers

• Follow site safety procedures, including power isolation, working at height, and proper use of PPE

About you

• Technical certificate or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred

• Experience in goods hoists, cranes, lifts, industrial machinery, or equipment maintenance is an advantage

• Able to read basic mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams

• Familiar with hand tools, power tools, and basic testing instruments

• Welding, fabrication, motor control, or PLC troubleshooting skills are an advantage

• Willing to work at height, travel to project sites, and work overtime when required

• Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team

• Valid driving licence is preferred
