Caregiver – Job Scope

1. Personal Care

Assist residents with bathing, showering, grooming, dressing and toileting.

Assist with oral hygiene, hair care and basic personal hygiene.

Assist residents with mobility, transfers and positioning.

Provide assistance with feeding and drinking when required.

2. Daily Living Activities

Assist residents with daily routines and activities.

Support residents in maintaining their independence as much as possible.

Accompany residents during activities, appointments and outings when required.

Provide companionship and emotional support.

3. Health & Safety

Monitor residents for any changes in their physical or emotional condition.

Report any unusual symptoms, falls, injuries, behavioural changes or other concerns to the nurse/supervisor promptly.

Assist with fall prevention and maintain a safe environment.

Follow infection-control procedures and proper hygiene practices.

4. Medication Support

Assist with medication-related tasks only according to the centre's policy and under the direction/supervision of a qualified nurse or authorised person.

Observe and report any adverse reactions or changes after medication.

5. Meals & Nutrition

Assist residents during mealtimes.

Follow prescribed dietary requirements and feeding instructions.

Monitor food and fluid intake where required and report concerns to the nurse.

6. Documentation & Communication

Record relevant observations and care provided according to centre procedures.

Communicate residents' needs and changes in condition to the nurse or supervisor.

Maintain confidentiality of residents' personal and medical information.

7. Housekeeping & Environment

Keep residents' rooms and common areas clean, tidy and safe.

Assist with changing bed linen and handling residents' laundry where required.

Ensure care equipment is clean and stored appropriately.

8. Other Responsibilities

Treat all residents with dignity, respect, patience and compassion.

Follow the centre's SOPs, policies and safety procedures at all times.

Attend staff meetings, training and mandatory competency programmes when required.

Perform other reasonable duties related to resident care as assigned by the supervisor or management.

QUALIFICATION

- Minimum SPM needed, added advantage if caregiver cert is available

Pay: From RM1,800.00 per month
