About the role

Beach Runner Adventure is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Tour Desk Agent to join our dynamic team in Kota Kinabalu District, Sabah. This is a full-time position that serves as the crucial front-line interface between our clients and the exceptional travel experiences we offer. As a Tour Desk Agent, you will be instrumental in creating memorable journeys for our guests, handling bookings, providing expert travel advice, and ensuring every interaction reflects our commitment to outstanding customer service. This role is pivotal to our operations, directly impacting customer satisfaction and the growth of our travel business.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email, and in-person, providing comprehensive information about tour packages, destinations, and travel options

• Process tour bookings and reservations accurately, ensuring all customer details and preferences are correctly documented

• Develop tailored travel itineraries based on customer requirements, budget constraints, and special interests

• Provide knowledgeable recommendations on destinations, activities, accommodation, and dining options

• Manage payments and handle invoicing for tour bookings in accordance with company procedures

• Coordinate with tour operators, transport providers, and accommodation partners to confirm bookings and resolve any issues

• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions using company systems

• Assist with the preparation of travel documentation, including itineraries, vouchers, and travel guidelines

• Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, working towards satisfactory resolutions

• Stay informed about current tour offerings, promotional packages, and destination information to provide accurate advice

• Contribute to achieving sales targets and promoting additional services or packages to customers

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working in the travel industry, as a travel consultant, tour agent, or similar customer-facing role

• Excellent knowledge of popular destinations, travel packages, and the tourism industry

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers professionally and build rapport

• Exceptional customer service attitude with a commitment to resolving issues and exceeding expectations

• Proficiency in using booking systems and travel management software

• Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM systems

• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a busy environment

• Strong organisational and attention to detail skills

• Knowledge of payment processing and invoice management

• Fluency in English; additional languages such as Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean are highly desirable

• A genuine passion for travel and the ability to inspire customers with destination knowledge

• Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays as required
