Job Summary
Join Shape Optics Technologies as a part-time Senior/Advisory Optical Engineer to provide expert technical guidance on complex optical and laser systems, mentor teams, and support global customers with flexible remote work arrangements.
Responsibilities
Provide high-level technical advice to internal teams and global customers on complex optical and laser product inquiries to ensure optimal application and system performance.
Advise customers on detailed product specifications, customized optical applications, and system capabilities to support informed decision-making.
Review, refine, and approve technical documentation, including product datasheets and engineering workflows, to maintain accuracy and quality standards.
Guide sales colleagues during critical customer consultations and technical proposal stages to enhance solution alignment and customer satisfaction.
Evaluate and improve troubleshooting workflows related to optical alignment, laser systems, and optical-mechanical interfaces to optimize system reliability and performance.
Required competencies and certifications
Degree in Physics, Optics, Laser Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive senior-level experience (typically 8+ years) in optical engineering, laser systems, or photonics.
Deep understanding of optical alignment, laser integration, and optical-mechanical interfaces.
Strong analytical skills applied to technical problem-solving in optical engineering contexts.
Excellent communication skills to clearly guide customers and internal teams through complex technical issues.
