Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Design Manager to lead and manage the Technical Design and Drafting Team supporting furniture manufacturing and interior projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with manufacturing requirements, providing technical guidance to the design and drafting team, and working closely with production, project management, and design teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Technical Designer and Drafting Team for furniture manufacturing and interior projects.
• Review and approve technical drawings, shop drawings, and production drawings prior to submission or manufacturing.
• Ensure all drawings comply with manufacturing standards, material specifications, installation requirements, and customer expectations.
• Coordinate closely with designers, project managers, and production teams to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
• Provide technical guidance and support on drafting software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant tools.
• Ensure all drawings are completed according to project timelines, technical accuracy, and quality standards.
• Develop and improve drawing standards, technical processes, and drafting workflows to enhance department efficiency.
• Provide technical solutions and support to the production team by resolving design and drawing-related issues.
• Manage multiple projects while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of working experience in furniture manufacturing, interior fit-out, or a related industry.
• Proven experience managing technical designers or drafting teams.
• Strong knowledge of furniture methods, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or other relevant technical drafting software.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with design, production, and project management teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under tight deadlines.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a strong technical design professional with extensive experience in furniture manufacturing or interior fit-out, combined with proven team leadership and technical drafting expertise.

You should be comfortable working across design, technical, production, and project management functions and be capable of resolving technical issues while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
